Kasper Czechowski, captain of Bywater CT in Volta ao Porto, had his worst (except flat stage 2 when he decided to enjoy nice weather and not involve into any racing) performance of this race today. When asked for reasons, he smiled and said:
" I felt great, but I simply lost too much time because of too many jerseys. I had the yellow GC leader jersey, the green one for SC and I've also just got the white and red jersey for best ranked Polish rider. So I decided to show off and use all of them during the stage, but changing while on bike was harder than I thought, Vasco Assis and several other riders used the moment I was busy taking off yellow jersey to replace it with green and left me behind. But don't worry, I have time to practice now and I hope that those jerseys will not hurt my performance tomorrow morning, and surely for ITT on stage 9 I will have no problems at all, as probably by this time I'll get rid of green jersey."
Apparently Czechowski is enjoying his latest success and his spirit is high, which makes him even more likely to hold on to his GC lead till the end of the race.
